Soccer is fun AGAIN!

Orchid Park Sec, 1700hrs
YSOSRS FC 10 Francis' Team 1
(Rudee x4, Juf x2, Sub x2, Ronald x2)

On a day where the scoreline never really mattered, the smiles and the joy found its way back into the the team. With a good-sized squad and an equally impressive fan-bench, it was quite literally a day to remember. The day will be remembered in terms of pictures this time round.

My man of the match: RUDEE. I dont think you can begrudge the man who banged in 4 goals of the highest quality of which 3 were struck in a frantic 15 min spell in the 1st half the 'award' for today. Top class. Quite simply, Christiano Rudee-inho.

Special mention to kassler for his imperious performance in the middle of the park that led to the angry tackles from our experienced opponents to try n take him out. Similarly, compliments can never go far from the trio of goalscorers who bagged themselves a brace each.

It was a good workout for all and i hope of you remember this feeling and take it into all of our remaining matches. Friendlies or league games, remember the joy of it all. We have 7 friendly matches remaining. Time to thoroughly enjoy all of them guys.

Manchester United 2-1 Bayern Munich Champions League Final 1999 HD Subtitle

For the ABU (Anything but United fans), i seek your understanding in persevering through this post.

For all United fans, the 1999 Champions league final between the Red Devils and Bayern Munchen will forever be a memory that will be carried with us till our graves. Despite only being 11 years old at that time, i remember the exact moments leading up to the goals that brought them back from the dead. Quite literally, 1-0 down with 3 minutes to do in the biggest match of their careers, the devils were 6 feet under. Check out the video as it has been a source of great motivation for me throughout my life.

For all the none united fans, put aside your hatred for english football or the red devils and just admire the last 3 minutes of the game. It is the epitome of the cliche, 'It ain't over till the fat lady sings'. Synonymous with our current losing streak, our hunt to be numero uno in our division will not be over until it is mathematically impossible.

Keep the faith people.

As u can see, our league seems to be playing a rugby-kinda game and we have easily 5 out of the 9 teams already close to or having had a point deducted which includes us. Dont worry about the point that we lost, just play smart to avoid unnecessary yellows in future man!

Vicious Cycle Envelops Boys In Blue

Tanglin Secondary School, 1500Hrs
THunder team 2 YSOSRS FC 0

Back to basics people. Start enjoying the game again before we worry about the results.
Thanks to all who turned up today and kudos to both our stand in keepers today. Thank you for putting yourself in the line of fire and despite the mistakes, the effort is much appreciated.

I have decided not to choose a man of the match for the game as quite simply, as much as we played decently, we were not good enough and that is the harsh truth that we have to face up to.

Fans in attendence:
Weisheng (Injured), Aisyah, Jasmond (Injured), Sabrina, Fadilah, Fatin (Thanks for the wonderful photos!)

*Received a surprise call from the organiser last night after our game, will fill you guys in on the details next saturday but he reacted with genuine shock after I told him that we had succumbed to another lost. 'I thought you guys were going to run away with the league!' No disrespect to players from any other teams who are frequent readers of our blog [which includes our league organiser =D ], but 5 wins in the 1st 6 games definitely told as championship form.

Truth be told, I am actually comforted by the fact that our guys have shown great disappointment towards our defeats which only means that you guys care about the team. It is time for every single player to step up and be counted. The plan would be to stop bringing in anymore outfield trialists from now till the end of the season and to work with the squad that we have.

Stay tuned for details of our game next week as we will be having a friendly! One more thing, anyone who stops by the blog to check for updates, please leave a comment in the chatbox so that it gives some life to it and i know i am not updating constantly for myself to read alright.

Experience triumphs over youthful exuberence

Queenstown Secondary School, 1500 hrs
Naranja AFC 1 YSOSRS FC 0

A wise man once said, if you don't score, you don't win. I say screw that wise man, for even a 3 year old kid knows that.

For the first time ever, the boys in blue were shut out completely and could not produce a stirring comeback to rewrite what was a horor start to the game. Conceding inside the 1st 10 minutes to our seasoned opponents was a travesty, however, the manner of the goal was just one of those instances where all we could do was to shake our heads and move on. Problem was, we never seemed to move on.

As experienced as our adversaries constantly proved themselves during the game, the blue express train found chances aplenty as we had no less than 5 one on one chances. To quote the 3 year old kid, we did not fulfill our end of the deal and thus the final score line.

As mentioned at the end of the game, we sprung out of the blocks at the start of the season remaining unbeaten in 6 games. However, now comes the part which will determine just how good and just how much we want to win the league. 2 defeats on the trot and with plenty of critics sharpening their knives to have a go at us, will we be able to bounce back?

The league is 16 games long, we are at the half way point in 2nd place and effectively 3 points behind Team Goat (as we have 11 yellows. 12 yellows see us deducted a point). We have faced all the teams in our division and i say that it is time to step it up. We have our loved ones both friends and partners cheering for us on the sidelines on a weekly basis and it would only be fair on them, for if we were to go down, to do so fighting. I have faith in every single player in the team, question is, do you guys have faith in yourselves.

A personal apology from me for the failed experimentation of the new formation and i take full responsibility for it. An added word is that i hope that both vic and kennedy joins the team on the long term. :) Do join us guys since both of u already unknowingly know so many of the team.
Thanks to both Kavic and Joel for helping out on the day too. Appreciate the effort man.

My man of the match:

Ronald. I saw fighting spirit and true grit in the man. On a day where few delivered (including me), i believe he stood out. A+ for your performance. ;)

Fans in attendence: Thanks peeps! Sorry for not delivering today.

Catherine, Fadilah, Syazana, Sabrina, Jasmond (Injured), Aisyah, Weisheng (Injured)

YSOSRS Zizou leaves on loan

YSOSRS record signing at an amazing 78 cents, Mahdi Zizou has been loaned out abruptly after a short stint at the club of a mere 3 games.

A spokesman for the club has finally made an official announcement on the latest developments of the quality playmaker after the rumour mill had gone into overdrive over the past 2 weeks about a possible bust up between the player and the gaffer.

YSOSRS Spokesman (Andre Mizouko): We are sad to announce that the player has been called up to play for his maiden club in which he already had a commitment in place before he featured for us. Thus, the man will be missing for the remainder of the season until December as he attempts to gain more experience in the ZEN league before returning to the team. YSOSRS will continue to retain rights on the player and will hope to have him back in preparation for the team's step up to the ESPZEN league next season. The club would also like to drive home the point that there was NO bust up between player and manager, with the current arrangement being purely mutual on all fronts. We await Mahdi's return to the team as we are pretty sure that after the bald headed man's retirement, the man with the mohawk is the heir apparent to the french magician and no one can float like a butterfly, and sting like a bee more than the left footed sensation.

Super Agent (Del Syafiqo): Aiya, my player... Suay lah huh. Got screw up here and there plus miscom lah dey. Dont blame him, he loves you guys. Will come back soon... And i promise i will be bring him back after i get my pockets lined up with cash BROZZZZZ. Peace yo..!

Gaffer (Sir Mok): I will be looking into the qualifications of this so called super agent and to see just how legit he is. He raised me up to the sky by announcing the signing of a superstar, but he made me cry when the superstar has to go after 3 games... I want my money back. Will suspend him for the next game unless he promises to head all the high balls in the sky for me.

And so the air has been cleared after weeks of speculation. YSOSRS would like to wish the man all da best in the upcoming season with his new-old team and that he returns sooner rather than later.

Disclaimer: The piece was written purely out of boredom. Please do not be offended. I love you guys still.

So damn true... Click on the 'pic' and read through it man!

To Zoff or not to, that is the question

Another weekend of footie beckons for the unserious boys in blue. After what has been described as a debacle of a match that ended in a first ever defeat in the short history of YSOSRS FC, the boys are primed and ready to put in a performance that would label the defeat as just a bad day at the office. In the upcoming weekend's matches, a stand out match would be Coca Cola SSC Vs Naranja AFC which would pit the title contenders against the title pretenders which would be the latter. With current league leaders, Team Goat taking a break from footie this weekend, both teams will be looking to close the gap on the leaders and jangle a few nerves from the animalistic sounding team.

Similarly, over at the lush green (not!) turf of Estadio Ahmad Ibrahimo, YSOSRS will take on bottom dwellers SOS. In the 1st meeting between the 2, SOS saw a heavily strengthened team face our high flying boys on the beautiful astro turf of Estadio Queenie-town. For what many would remember as a bruising epic clash, it was decided in the dying moments of the game by a courageous and yet nonchalant finish by high flying winger, Law. This time round, the bottom dwellers are not expected to have the same strength due to those players having to play in their own league in Espzen. Will there be a goal rush for the men in blue? Or will the SOS team upset the odds as we have so often seen in the ongoing world cup, and claim their first ever victory?

Mokie-centre Man to watch:

Dinie aka Berbatov. The mercurial playmaker of the team who reportedly 'hates scoring' has often drifted in and out of games and yet his obvious brilliance has been there for all to see. Without a league goal after 7 games despite scoring 4 in 2 games during the pre season, the man is hungry to open his account and determined to make up for lost time. With the berba-rooney partnership expected to reunite for the weekend, the world (of less than 10 fans) will be holding their breath in anticipation of a strong performance from the magician. If he does not score in this game, it is expected within the camp that he will be taking his place between the posts from the next game onwards in a desperate attempt to emulate his 2nd favourite player, Italian legend, Din-ie Zoff. Will he, or wont he. Stay tuned for the latest news.

And in accordance with the current world cup fever, if u should ever want to have a flutter on the game, the odds are as follows:

Market type: 1x2
SOS ($4.25) Draw ($3.60) YSOSRS ($1.56)

[Max bet capped at $5 per person]

Bets will be accepted up till 5 minutes before kick off time! Call early to avoid disappointment!

Disclaimer: All events in this article are purely fictional and made up for the reading pleasure of the masses. Do enjoy the weekend's game people!
