Questra Challenge Cup (QCC) 2011

*Picture taken from www.viperfc.net

Hey guys, I've got some exciting news to announce. We have been formally invited as a guest team to participate in the annual Questra Challenge Cup. If you guys haven't got a clue, it is a cup tournament that is held by the Vipers team. The link to their website is on the right panel. So anyway, the dates for the tournament are on the 4th and 5th of June. It will be on both the saturday and sunday.

(Link: http://www.vipersfc.net/questrachallengecup.html)

Usually the format of the cup will be as such:
1) 4 vipers' family teams (Questra Vipers, Vipers Evo, Eastern Vale & Vipers Social)

2) Plus another 4 guest teams.

3) 2 groups of 4 and the top 2 of each group will qualify for the Gold semi's and the bottom 2 will qualify for the Silver semi's.

4) This explains why there will be games on consecutive days.

5) Based on my knowledge from the tournament last year, teams will normally play 3 games on saturday. Each game is shortened to 30 minutes per game so that players will not collapse from fatigue.

6) All of the games last year were played at St Wilfred Complex.

So yeah, a great opportunity for our team to improve on our social reputation and also it would represent a great preparatory tournament for us going into season 8 of the Espzen Saturday League.

FYI, we will be finishing our current espzen league (season 7) on the 21st of May. After which, we will either start friendly games or have a short break before embarking on the next season. Do check out the schedule tab to have an idea of the upcoming plans for the team alright.

Of course it would be best that everyone turns up on both days but then again, we have a squad to cope with any potential lack of numbers. Furthermore, the tournament will be held during our Uni Summer Break and also on the weekends where our working personnel should tentatively be free. I have accepted the invitation to participate in this cup and till there is further word on this, just check out the link I have pasted above to get a feel of what the cup is like. Cheers!
