It's been a long while since this blog last had anything other then a match preview and a match report. To all our avid readers, my sincere apologies. Well of course as expected, viewership ratings has been on the down and naturally a certain level of enthusiasm about the team has decreased. Bummer!!
Not going to hide it but my little flame that had been burning brightly for the past 2 years has certainly been dwindling just a tiny bit in recent times. Whatever the case though, the fire in the belly continues to burn as we now head into the 2nd half of what has been a successful season thus far.
It's no exaggeration to say that this team has withstood the test of time. The core group of this team has seen some departures. Notable absentees include our hall of famers Juffie boy, our king at the not-too-offside trap Huijie, the disappearance of our Roberto Jas-los, the season long victim to injury Xabi-Scottie-Education-minister wannabe WS, our very first and always inspiring-on a sabbatical Zam and also not forgetting the king of ninja warriors, Wong.
There have been long serving members who have grew tired of the practise as well. Week in and week out, at a level in which we feel stretches our competitive nature. Indeed, it can get ever so tiresome.
This season though, we have seen arguably our most competitive squad with an infusion of fresh, young and old blood. The likes of Bang bus captain, Eric, the orchestrator of that very same bang bus Bai, the youthful, effervescent and oh so inspiring trio of Isk, Khai and Hafeeeeeez, our very own star player of the east, Mamamamahdddi!!! Plus of course the returning playa of the year/now manager to be Yasinho.
Team spirit has never been higher. Yet lest we forget, every member in the team will always have some sort of contribution to make to the team out on there on the pitch. This team is more than just one for the weekends. We were strangers but have now became friends. Brothers even. And gay boys for those who dare step out of their skeleton-filled closets.
Enjoy this team that was born out of sheer determination by its founding members. And to those who remain today, pat yourselves on the back. We have done well folks. So let us keep the joy going.
