And so it has been a while since I last blogged about a more light hearted piece in here and I thought why not now since I'm jobless and basically doing absolutely nothing each day. Before your working buggers start murmuring 'slacker', hear me out boys. I'm just catching up on all the sleep and basically taking my job here at YSOSRS to a full time level! My sacrifice is your gain! How heartwarming ain't it.
Well in truth, I basically have absolutely nothing constructive to say but just thought I'd lighten the spirit in here with this post. Let's see, positives to note so far from the new season:
1) Mok is sponsoring the team! Partially anyhow. Well on his way to being a mega-POOR owner.
2) The team is doing splendidly thus far! With so much quality in the ranks at the moment, it is to be honest difficult to find space and time for the gaffer to strut his stuff as well!
3) The boys have reacted fantastically to the difficulties of the new division. Every freaking game seems like a derby/a cup final type of game and yet we have been taking it in our stride. Huge strides boys. No worries if we need to slow down and take a breather. Let's do that together.
4) Everyone is gradually finding their roles in the team again and that can only be positive news. Photographers, scouts, treasurer, emo-ers. Ah yes, we have plenty of those in the last group. I may be a psychology undergrad, but can we wait till im fully graduated and have a degree before testing my expertise please?
5) Thank god for the youthful exuberance that Tosh & Bib have brought into the team. Their energy and vigour leaves me wishing I could go back to when i was 18. Allan is 32 btw. The difference in age is mind boggling at times. Sorry Allan. U know you are still loved. <3
6) Mahdi in his spiderman suit against FMFC was a sight to behold. Looks like my influence has rubbed off on the team. We have more swimmer wannabes in the team nowadays. Just stick to the footie guys. That is what you guys are good at so leave the swimming to me. Hurhur.
7) Allan reprising the role of superman which he successfully undertook in his 1st season with us. Turning back time and flying all over the place during games. Oh and I forgot to mention that he acts as a part time scout for YSOSRS on our off days. A detailed dossier of every team have been or is in the process of being compiled. So the rest of the teams.... beware. Allan has his eyes on you. So add him + like him on FB before he hands over your secrets.
8) The form issue. Pre-season may have been short and hardly good enough to get rid of the rust, but hey. Time to pull up those socks and start firing some cylinders!! Even Torres scored at least once despite his not-so successful stint with Chelski so far. To prove that you are better than or as good as him, I will throw down the gauntlet and say that whoever does not score at least one goal this season including defenders (Allan is exempted of course), will have to treat everyone else to a round of drinks or dinner at the end of season get together. It's a deal!
9) We've been spending too much time partying together instead of playing footie. ARGHHHHH. Okay wait, that was more me than you guys. Anyhow, time to get back into the groove people.. On the field that is.
10) I'm running out of stuff to say now. I will go back to watching Gossip Girls. And if you are wondering, I am at Season 3 Episode 10. It's getting really stupid and boring now cause everyone keeps making with everyone else. But hey, as I said earlier, the sacrifices of the gaffer, is your gain. See you boys on Saturday then.
~We out!
