Hopefully i can keep it short this time round. A roller-coaster of emotions as our league games have often proved. From being a goal up since the first half and firmly in control, a desperate sequence of unfortunate events led to an equalising goal from the samba boys (yellow mah). Although it must be said that the free-kick was quite something. According to Wong though, if the ball had been the 'rubber ball', he would have scored with his effort too. So, looks like the blame is on the mikasa ball now. Haha.

First half performance: We were all over the place at times, perhaps due to personnel in unfamiliar positions. Me included. Defence was excellent though. Held firm throughout the game. Kudos to that. Zhengliang was sensational as he covered ground down the left constantly. He due-ly converted with an unorthodox goal which he claims he meant. Not buying it... Nonetherless, 1-0 against a fit hooyah outfit.

Second half performance: Syafiq stood out for me with his dominance in midfield. Seriously, Yaya Toure bro.. We were comfortable for most of the half and had stand out chances for Ernie and then Wong who again went on his customary lung bursting runs from the half way line. The save from phileo just before he went off deserves special mention too. Pure class from an excellent shot. Well done man! However we obtained 2 yellow cards that were uncalled for on our part. WTF! (Guys... 13 yellows and we are deducted a point. 3 reds and its another point! Don't throw away points that we put in so much effort to earn man. Just so you know. We have 5 yellows in 3 games now.) Anyway, we had to push for a winner and it came in a very fortuitous manner. Hard luck for the keeper but i have to rejoice as it's my first league goal in 2 seasons!!! Why i can't score more, i dont know man!

Man of the Match for our team:

Ronald. I thought he was excellent throughout. Working in tandem with hizam who was feeling under the weather. Fantastic covering and dominance from the back throughout and i feel you deserve it for today. Kudos to the efforts of all. Well done.

Some thoughts:

1) The team starts too slowly. We have to be sure right from the start and i believe this will improve with time. However, let's starting working for each other, and trusting each other. Make a pass and move. I like our link up especially in the 2nd half. The passing was delightful at times but we must keep it a constant theme.

2) Hooyah have proved a totally different outfit from the team we beat 9-1 in our friendlies. They will improve, and i believe that we will as well. Let's keep working on our link up play and we will make it happen.

3) PLEASE make it an effort to talk to everyone as well. Don't leave them out of your conversations. 2 hours a week to speak to your teammate is not a tough ask.

4) 5 games played. 4 wins. 3 league games, 2 wins and a draw. Be proud of yourself. And i hope you are enjoying every minute of it for I thoroughly am. Well done guys. Rest well and feel good over this game. We will meet again next week. Do expect an astro turf pitch for our league game soon! Just got off the phone with the organiser. Haha.

5) One more thing. Please invite your friends or girlfriends or girlfriends-to-be to our games man! And it would be nice if you intro them to me cause at least i know their names for they are part of the team too! Erm, invite them to join our facebook group as well!
